During August Brecon holds its world famous Brecon jazz festival attracting visitors and performers from all over the world, while Builth Wells Famous for the Royal Welsh Show is just a few miles away. Hay On Wye is famous for its second hand bookshops and annual book festival. You may like to take a journey on the Brecon mountain railway one of the most popular railways in Wales or visit Brecon Cathedral built c 1093 1537 and see the regimental chapel of the royal regiment of Wales and the colours of Rorkes Drift.
At Llangorse you can enjoy Riding, Trekking and Hacking, also indoor climbing activities suitable for families children and the more experienced. On the shore of the lake at Llangorse you will find hire facilities for all sorts of water sports, fishing is also available on the lake as it is on some stretches on the river Usk.
